Welcome to my new blog!

As a fitness professional I have an innate interest in all things health and fitness and therefore spend an inordinate amount of time reading, watching, engaging in and learning about the latest trends in the fitness industry. One thing that I have learned in my journey is that the human body is an extremely complex and confusing subject matter that we are only beginning to fully understand.

There are so many myths and misconceptions out there that it is hard for people to know where to start. Some of these myths are created by accident or are based upon success with a minority of people while others are more devious, created by companies who place the importance of their financial success above the health of their customers.

Then there are the variations that are brought about by our genetics and our individual lifestyles, meaning that what might work well for one person might be completely ineffective or even counterproductive for others.

So with all those caveats in place, I will use this blog to share some of my knowledge and experience on what are some of the key factors that promote a healthy and successful lifestyle. I will look at a variety of training and nutrition topics as well as lifestyle factors that will make or break your success. I will also look to comment on current issues and events in the media and share any other bits and pieces that I feel may be of interest. Or if you have any particular issues you would like to learn more about, please feel free to let me know.

In my next edition I will take a look at the two key factors that will dictate your success: inspiration and effectiveness.
